Puppy Kindergarten

Get started on the right "paw" with your new pup!

Puppy Kindergarten teaches good manners and helps prevent behavior problems BEFORE they start. The American Veterinary Medical Association AND the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommend puppies starting Puppy kindergarten as young as 8 weeks of age. Click here and here for more info!

The overall goal of puppy kindergarten dog training is to help your puppy develop into a calm, confident family dog who is easy to live with and welcome everywhere you go. We cover common puppy behavior problems:

  • Housebreaking
  • Nipping/playbiting
  • Destructive chewing
  • Stealing food and other "stuff"

Puppy Kindergarten gets your pup started on basic dog training skills such as:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come (Click your "back" arrow when finished, instead of the "X")
  • Wait at the Door
  • No Jumping
  • No-Pull Walking
  • Settle

This course includes Puppy Playtime so your pup plays and interacts properly with other dogs! We also teach proper brushing, nail clipping, handling and restraint techniques so your dog can EASILY be examined, medicated, vaccinated, treated, groomed, and cared for by you or the vet - for life!

As Puppy Kindergarten is a family dog training class, kids age 5 and up are welcome to attend AND take part! If you do have children, this is a great way to get them involved in training, and if you don't, it's a fantastic way to get your pup some early, positive socialization to kids.

8 week course, 1 hour per week. LIMIT 6 PUPS PER CLASS.   Open to pups up to approximately weeks of age at start of course.
