We are now registering for June Puppy Kindergarten and Family Dog 1 classes! Please keep a close watch on this page...we are anticipating starting our June sessions using our Interactive Online platform for 1-2 weeks, then moving back into the classroom, safely practicing social distancing! Please see our class schedule here. We are offering Puppy Consultations as well as private lessons using this format as well.
Please note: this is not video...this is a live, real-time online format where you will be "in class" with your fellow students and your instructor, but in the comfort and safety of your own home.
We are utilizing (FREE) Zoom software to facilitate your session. You will be able to see and hear your instructor; we will be able see and hear you. We have already had a few weeks of online classes and lessons, and they have exceeded my expectations of transitioning to this format. Here's what a few current students had to say:
"We had one lesson in Huntington last week which was amazing! This week because of the virus we were emailed that class would be held by video conferencing. We have to say it was just like being in the room like last week in our own home! The instructor, Lorrie, was interacting with all of us. We were able to ask questions and be instructed what to do with our puppies just the same as being at the Huntington training center. Thank you Lorrie and Ellen!" - Susan, Hauppauge, New York
This was an amazing idea to handle this situation!!! Kudos to you and Lorrie for facilitating the Zoom class!!! We will be registering for the Family Dog 1 course very soon! - Stephanie, Greenlawn NY
The session format is the same! You will receive instruction on the new skill, see a demonstration with a dog, and then you work with your own pet. We coach you through the interactive format while you train your dog.
Our goal is ensure the same effective, live training experience for you and your dog, while protecting the community at large and making sure we are still here to help Long Islanders with their dogs now and in the future. Thank you for your support and flexibility during this challenging time.

At Happy Dog your dog will learn skills to make you proud of their behavior for years to come. Your dog can learn to dog to walk nicely on a leash, come immediately when called, not jump on people, wait and stay, and so much more! Our dog training classes and lessons are FUN for you and your dog...and they WORK! Clients come from all over Long Island for dog training and behavior consultations.
All dog training courses are limited to only SIX dogs per class so each student receives plenty of individual attention. A great emphasis is placed on how to practice so that your dog's skills work in "the real world". Our small class structure allows us to get to know our students well and meet their specific needs.
